Our streets in West Ealing and Southall are being upgraded in stages between 2025 and 2030 — from early feasibility work through to completed, well-used streets. Here's how the design and construction work is funded and phased.
How the programme is funded
The Alternative Mitigation Measures (AMM) programme follows the RIBA design stages, taking each route from initial data-gathering and feasibility work through concept and detailed design, statutory consultation, construction, and finally handover with post-implementation monitoring.
Early feasibility work in 2025 is funded through Ealing Council's S106 sustainable transport contribution. From late 2025 through to 2027, the bulk of design and construction is jointly funded by the Greater London Authority, Transport for London, and Berkeley Homes as the core AMM projects — taking cumulative spend from £1.7 million to £8.7 million. Investment continues through handover and monitoring, reaching more than £15 million by 2030.
